Tangipahoa Parish will celebrate its greatest asset—its children—with a parade this Saturday in downtown Amite. Tangipahoa School Superintendent Melissa Stilley said the 2nd annual Krewe of Champions Parade is set to roll this Saturday, Feb. 8, at noon in Amite. Stilley said the Krewe of Champions Parade is one their biggest events of the year, and she hopes everyone will come out to cheer on the students, schools, and the parish as a whole. The parade begins at the Regions Bank parking lot on W. Oak Street and travels east on LA 16 through the heart of downtown Amite. Stilley said every school in the parish is represented in the parade. Entries include school bands, cheer and dance teams, as well as Students and Teachers of the Year, student athletes, clubs and student organizations and contestants at local academic events.
