Southeastern Louisiana University’s Small Business Development Center is collaborating with the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce and the Law Firm Carver Darden to offer a seminar on intellectual capital titled “Protecting Your Company’s Intellectual Property: What Every Business Needs to Know.” Scheduled Feb. 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the seminar will be held at the Northshore Technical Community College STEM Campus on Centerpoint Blvd. in Lacombe. Topics to be covered include: the definition of intellectual property, general intellectual property law, patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets, and how to use intellectual property to build and protect competitive advantage. Cost to attend the seminar is $5 for St. Tammany Chamber members and $10 for non-members. Lunch is included and is sponsored by Metairie Bank Northshore.
