The Southeastern Louisiana spirit squads both advanced to the finals of the 2020 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship over the weekend with the university’s cheerleaders claiming a bronze medal at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Competing in the Small Coed Division I category, the Southeastern cheerleaders placed third behind Memphis and Grand Canyon, topping teams from Hofstra, San Diego State, Bowling Green, Ball State, Delaware and Minnesota. They also placed eighth in the Open Coed Gameday category. The Lionettes, Southeastern’s dance team, finished fifth in the Division I Hip Hop category.
