Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal says their 2019 National Night Out schedule has been finalized. The parties are set to kick off tonight. Traditionally, the event is held during the month of August, but due to the extreme heat, some areas have changed the date to October. The night is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support in anti-crime efforts, and unite communities. Representatives from the Slidell Police S.W.A.T. team, motors division, K-9 division, mounted division, patrol division, reserve division, and detective division will all be participating in this year’s National Night Out Against Crime. The parties can be found on their Facebook page and include locations like Kensington Estates, Country Club Estates, Heritage Estates, Eagle Point, Tanglewood Crossing, Lakeside Swim Club and more.
