United Way of Southeast Louisiana and Entergy Corporation, with other partners continuing to join, have launched the Hospitality Cares Pandemic Response Fund. They say there are over 72,000 individuals employed in the hard-hit hospitality and tourism industry, which accounts for about 12 percent of all workers in the region. They are offering a one-time award of up to $500 for hospitality and tourism workers who meet certain criteria. They received over 2,000 applications within hours of opening the process over the weekend. Applications are temporarily closed while whey review the current submissions for approval and seek additional funding. Find out more and if you qualify at www.unitedwaysela.org/hospitalitycares.
