Yesterday the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office identified a suspect in a shooting incident on Dillon Ln in Hammond where deputies discovered two individuals had been shot and transported to North Oaks Hospital by private vehicles. 51-year-old Cornelius Beauchamp of Klein Rd. is the alleged suspect. Beauchamp is being accused of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
29 -year-old J. T. Douglas was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The second subject identified as Travis Walker, 37 years old, was admitted in the hospital and is being treated for a gunshot wound. His injuries are listed as severe, however is expected to survive.
