Late last week the Hammond Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by the HPD Street Crimes Unit and the Amite Police Department, arrested Leroy Johnson III in connection to burglaries that occurred at Wendy’s on Southwest Railroad Avenue. Johnson was located at his residence on Dogwood Drive in Amite hiding from officers inside an air conditioning vent. He was transported to the Hammond City Jail and charged with two counts of Burglary, two counts of Criminal Damage, Probation Violation, and Resisting Arrest.
