Last week Hammond Police officers responded to an incident of shots fired at the corner of North Morrison Boulevard and Blackburn Extension that began inside the His Fashion store at 1001 North Morrison Boulevard. HPD detectives learned that a male went into the business brandishing two pistols and began to shoot. Initially, detectives believed that one individual was shot but later learned the victim had a graze wound to the hand that was not life threatening. Nearby, in the West Dale subdivision, the Hammond Street Crimes Unit located 28 YO Keith Hunt of Hammond, who fit the description of the shooter and had two pistols with him. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of Stolen Property, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
