Hammond PD has been investigating a series of vehicle burglaries in the area of Old Covington Highway. Earlier this week the Patrol Division arrested two juvenile suspects. After an investigation by the HPD Juvenile Criminal Investigations Division, another juvenile suspect was identified. The two juveniles in custody have been charged with trespassing, criminal mischief, and vehicle burglary. An arrest warrant has been issued for the third juvenile for the same offenses. In total, the juveniles appear to be responsible for seven vehicle burglaries. The vehicles had been left unlocked in each of the burglaries, with valuables inside the vehicle. Hammond Chief Edwin Bergeron, Jr. reminds citizens to lock their vehicles.
