The Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing and Southeastern Louisiana University Student Government Association are proud to host a service-learning project called the “Green and Gold Build”. The event is going on this week, as part of Homecoming 2019. University students, faculty, staff and alumni will construct a 5 bedroom 2 bath house frame on campus in an effort to support The Fuller Center’s affordable housing mission. The house frame will later be transported to a nearby neighborhood where student groups will take turns completing construction of the home throughout the Spring Semester. Up to 100 volunteers made up of students, faculty, staff and alumni are needed on Friday October 11th. The Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing, a nonprofit housing ministry serving Tangipahoa and Livingston Parishes, is always in need of discounted and donated construction supplies as well as monetary donations to purchase building materials; find out more online at www.fullercenter.org/gingerfordnorthshore.
