NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality on I-10 East Highrise last night. Initial reports show one male victim has died as a result of this accident. NOPD said at 6:37 p.m., NOPD officers responded to a call of an accident with injury on Interstate-10 East Highrise. Upon arrival, officers were notified that an adult male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on I-10 when he struck the back of a trailer that was attached to another vehicle, at which time the victim was ejected from the motorcycle. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development website showed traffic backed up beyond the 610 split as of 8 p.m.
