In Ponchatoula, an officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway on McGary Lane and attempted to make contact with the driver, later identified as 39 YO Kevin Sibley. Sibley pulled into a driveway trying to elude contact with the officer and ignored all officer commands, stating that he was going inside the residence. It was well-known to this officer that Sibley had no connection to this residence. Sibley fled on foot as the officer attempted to detain him, but was quickly apprehended within a rear storage room in Lake Side Circle. He physically resisted arrest while also attempting to hide suspected drugs. Kevin Sibley was also found to be a wanted person through the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and Probation and Parole. Further investigation determined that Sibley’s front seat passenger had been recently taken out of Hammond against her will by Sibley and appeared to have been battered. Hammond Police Detectives are working that case. Sibley was booked on numerous charges including 2 Counts Resisting an Officer, Obstruction of Justice, Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, Introduction of Contraband into Penal Institute, Criminal Trespass, Simple Assault, and Possession of Marijuana.
