The Louisiana Department of Health said they were working out a testing results backlog and the numbers really jumped as results came in yesterday, with 9,150 positive results against 6,424 reported cases just a day before. 37 more people died in that 24-hour period, bringing the total to 310. 1,639 COVID patients are in hospitals, 507 of them require ventilators. Orleans Parish had a big jump to 3,148 cases with 125 deaths. There are now 2,178 cases in Jefferson and 73 deaths. St Tammany is now 3rd in the state with reporting 399 cases and 9 deaths. Livingston has 33 cases. Tangipahoa is listing 42 cases and 1 death from the virus. In Washington there are 50 reported cases and 2 deaths. These numbers will be updated again today at noon.
