Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards says on January 15, detectives with the Narcotics Unit began investigating allegations of drug activity at an Amite residence. Information was received that 51-year-old Jerry Summerford was selling drugs out of his residence and accepting stolen property- more specifically stolen firearms – as payment. Undercover agents set up to conduct surveillance of Summerford’s home and property located on HWY 1054. By noon, they had already witnessed two illegal hand to hand narcotics transactions. After the transaction, agents stopped each vehicle as it left the residence. Agents seized meth and marijuana from the vehicles. Both occupants were arrested.
Investigating agents moved in on the residence and secured the premises as a search warrant was obtained for the home and property. The subsequent search yielded the seizure of approximately (25) grams of meth, (.3) grams of marijuana, tramadol prescription medication, (12) firearms, and multiple gun parts.
Arrested at the residence and facing multiple charges were: 51 YO Jerry Summerford, 44 YO Brandon Baker, 30 YO Joshua Lumetta, 49 YO Melissa Burns, 38 YO Aaron Wallace, and 53 YO Kirk Lumetta Sr.
