As expected, Governor John Bel Edwards ordered an extension to school closures in the state of Louisiana. As a result, all STPPS schools and support facilities will remain closed until at least April 30. The extension of his stay at home order mirrors guidelines issued by President Trump. The closures will continue to affect all schools and support facilities in addition to all athletics, activities, clubs, and events. All employees will remain on call and should follow the direction of their direct supervisor. The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) is in the process of determining what could potentially happen beyond April 30.
