The Coast Guard suspended its search for three people following a boat collision on the Mississippi River in Saint Charles Parish. The collision happened Sunday morning near the Luling Bridge. Investigators said after the crash, the boat sank into the Mississippi River and four crew members went into the water. One person was rescued. The Coast Guard searched by boat, air and land for the missing crew members, but the height and speed of the river made rescue efforts difficult. They said there was some damage to the vessel pushing two barges carrying sulfuric acid. Air monitors are in place, but emergency crews say there are no immediate health concerns. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
