St. Tammany Sheriff Randy Smith reminds citizens to lock their car doors this holiday season.
Early Wednesday morning, STPSO deputies were dispatched to the Eden Isles area of Slidell in reference to two individuals dressed in dark clothing, walking around the neighborhood pulling on vehicle door handles. Deputies patrolling the area located 19 YO Chance Evans and a 16 YO male walking in the neighborhood. The two teens, who are both from the Slidell area, admitted they were looking for unlocked vehicles to burglarize. The pair also admitted to having made access into two unlocked vehicles.
Evans was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. The juvenile was released to the custody of a responsible adult.
