State’s Numbers Jump Again
The Louisiana Department of Health says as of yesterday we had 6,424 reported cases against 5,237 a day before. 34 more people died in that 24-hour period, bringing the total to 273. 1,498 COVID patients are in hospitals, 490 of them require ventilators. Gov. John Bel Edwards announced a new Louisiana Loan Portfolio Guaranty Program, which will offer loans of up to $100,000 to Louisiana small businesses of fewer than 100 employees that are impacted by the crisis. Electrical Fire at Armstrong International
Officials say sprinklers at Armstrong International Airport extinguished a fire in an electrical room last night. The airport has been largely empty with coronavirus drastically reducing flights and passengers.
