Yesterday, Michael B. Cooper was sworn in for his first term as St. Tammany Parish President, along with 14 St. Tammany Parish Council members, at the Fuhrmann Auditorium in Covington. DA Warren Montgomery served as Master of Ceremonies. The event was moved from its planned outdoor location because of inclement weather. Following his swearing in by 22nd Judicial District Court Judge Peter Garcia, Parish President Cooper delivered his inaugural address. In it Cooper said he wanted to build trust in the parish government. He said he would work with other elected officials to create a community where business could thrive and prosper with the right infrastructure to ensure their success.
